In your return towards Lukla, a highlight to not miss is Khumjing. Sitting on the base of the holy mountain Khumbila, this lovely, very conventional Sherpa village has many fascinating Mani stones and colourful outdated and new stupas. It also hosts a well known monastery housing what’s historically thought of a yeti scalp – the scalp of the “abominable snowman”.
